Ran a mile, walked a mile. I think the heat is getting to me.

Felt great for the first 1.5 miles. But, then I felt drained. To the point I was feeling dizzy. I hate when that happens. I get this way about every 10-12 runs.
I cut it short and will take tomorrow off. Hoping I can nail a great run on Wednesday.
my-intention-is-happiness asked: Run to the moon... just had to say that to you after seeing your photo... :) I can't comment on the photo directly but thought it might 'brighten' your evening (pun totally intended). Hope you indeed had an awesome run!

87 degrees and 4.2 miles done. My feet really like thick running socks. But, I think it’s getting to hot to wear them.
brooksylite asked: Hey man you gettin in some good baseball out there or what? Where you hiding at? Hope the biz is keeping you busy.

Lately, I’ve been too tired to run. Tonight I had to decide if I was going to go to bed at 7:30 or run. I ran. It wasn’t pretty, but I got 4.2 miles logged in.
I'm around

PAT!!! Hi Pat. I miss seeing you around. You are still here, just not as much.

Stay strong, my friends.

Best Run Yet
three miles in a row under 10:55. A 4.2 mile pace of 10:47 makes this the best run of the year for me. Two years ago I ran the Pat Tillman Memorial run called “Pat’s Run” and did it in just over 40 minutes. It was one of the best races I ever ran. Tonight I did the same distance in 45:06. Can’t wait till I can take that five minutes off again.

Lucky, Lucky, Lucky
I’ve been real busy this week with work. I’ve been driving about 90 miles each day showing homes. Because of this, my wife and I had to skip a real estate tech expo we had paid to attend. As I was driving by it back to the office, I decided that I would stop in and register to get our box lunches we paid for. I got them and put our business cards into a box to win some prizes.
Without...

3 days off of running and I was moving today. A 4 mile run at an 11:04 pace. It was a good day.

Down 5.2 pounds.
Now that’s what I’m talking about. I’ve been very busy selling real estate lately, so I haven’t had my fill of tumblr time. Hope everyone is doing well, eating well and sweatin’ up a storm.

I didn't want you to think I was upset at you about the fitblr post. It was the comments that caused me to say what I said.
I like the discussion it promoted.
Have a great day!

This Just in. . .
Tonight I reached 3000 miles logged since I started running back in 2006. That’s almost 55 miles every month for the past 55 months. I’ve always said that it’s not my desire to be the fastest runner, nor is it my desire to run the most marathons or to log 100 mile weeks. I just want to log miles. Year after year. To be able to run in my 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and...

My New Health Station
On March 23 I started using this new scale. It measures your weight down to .2 pounds or you can set it on metric or stones. It measures body fat, body water, muscle mass, bone mass and predicts how many calories you need that day to maintain your weight.
It’s all done by sending a low electrical charge through your body. Yeah, my daughter thought she’d feel it. But, you...

So, what’s a real Fitblr? Someone that only writes about health and fitness? Someone that writes 80% of the time about health and fitness? 50% of the time?
It seems like the percentages are falling.
What do you think?

Success = Complacency
I’ve broken my weight loss up into three phases. The top layer of lard, the middle layer and the final layer of lard. I’ve lost the top layer and I can see a difference in the mirror. Success.
But, with success comes complacency. I get satisfied and I take more liberties. I eat some fries or have some ice cream. I figure it’s ok. But, then the next day I eat a sub or have some...

on the light side
The new scale has been very good to me. I am down to 226.8, my lowest yet. Funny, if I eat healthy and get my run in the scale has reflected the results.

I was well rested and thought I’d have a great run. I ran the first 2.43 miles without a break at about an 11 minute pace. I took 4 breaks during the last 1.7 miles. Sweated a ton, as it was in the 80’s.
Sold a condo, Reds won, got a good run in and ate well. That’s what I call a winning day.

saragetsfit asked: Oh you are a better person than me. I would never push a car with a Steelers decal on it. Ever! Though being from Baltimore that's a given. haha
Good Deed
So, I see a stranded mustang in the left turn lane and decide I should help out by pushing her to the gas station. It’s a policy of mine, that if I have the time to always help someone that needs a push. Anyway, I get to her back bumper in 95 degree weather and what do I see. The worst possible thing for a guy from Cincinnati. A Steelers decal. I told her I can’t push a steelers fan....

Monthly Weight Loss
Jan 1: 242
Feb 1: 233 (-9)
March 1: 227 (-6)
April 1: 224 (-3)
But, on the new scale I’m at 229.2 pounds. From now on I’ll be using the new scale numbers. I started on the new scale a week ago at 234.8. One week later I’m at 229.2, but it’s had it’s bumps as you can see.
April is going to be a great month. Let’s do this!
My Run, the movie.
A great movie. I can’t believe he ran from minneapolis to atlanta. Well worth seeing.
I wonder if he runs any today. Somehow, I doubt it. Especially, since he is in his 70s.

As most of you know, my weightloss journey has been in a “stump” lately. But, as a true fitblr, I refuse to give up. And I wanted some inspiration, something to make me realize that I can’t give up after coming this far. So what did I do?
I joined a photoshoot contest! This is where YOU come in!…
Let’s help a fellow fitblr out. I did!

So far, I have 53 responses to the Do Life tour survey, but there have to be so many more people out there that plan to attend. Here’s the list so far, and if you click on the tab at the bottom you can pick by date or by city.
If you have friends that haven’t done it yet, give them a nudge, please?

Missed that last three days of running. Just wasn’t feeling it. But, I got 4.2 miles in tonight with only three walk breaks. A pace of 11:50. I wore my heart rate monitor tonight. The first two miles that I ran the entire time, I was able to keep my HR at an average of 141 with a max of 155. I love to run when my HR stays down and I can breath easily.
